Safety Tips
While we have made it easy for buyers and sellers to meet, below is a list of safety tips traders are advised to follow. Tips are based on several aspects related to trading on Kampus Kago.
Location
- Physical transactions should be carried out in an open environment, to create a safe zone for both participants.
- The location should be easily accessible for both parties to avoid any sort of inconvenience for either participant.
- If either trader is located within the school campus, the location of the physical meeting should be arranged within the campus.
Communication
- Traders and Buyers should avoid offensive statements during a conversation.
- Gender or racial discrimination is not tolerated as the reported user's account would be disconnected.
- Religious discrimination is not tolerated as the reported user's account would be disconnected.
- If either party is trying to be offensive physically, the offended party has the right to report it to the local authorities.
Time and Appointment
- The time of the meeting should be adhered to by both parties.
- The time of the meeting should be acceptable to both parties.
Information
- Do not share personal information with strangers. Users' account profile has the major information traders need to perform a trade. Asides from location and meeting information, it is advisable to refrain from sharing personal information.
- Do not share Kago account details such as passwords to prevent unauthorized access to your account. If you have any issues with your account, it is safer to contact the customer care line.
- Information relating to your bank account and transactions should not be shared. E.g BVN, ATM card pin, ATM card serial number, ATM card CVV number etc to prevent unauthorized access to your bank account.
Transaction
- It is advisable to make payment after the buyer has collected the product.
- If a buyer is not comfortable carrying cash to a transaction, you can make payment via USSD, mobile app or ATM which is more advisable for trading.
